Florida for NATURE LOVERS
If you are looking for something a little different
then Orlando has plenty to offer, here are some of our personal recommendations
for a slightly alternative Orlando experience :
LAKE LOUISA STATE PARK
Lake
Louisa State Park is noted for its six beautiful lakes, rolling hills,
and scenic landscapes. Lake Louisa is the largest in a chain of 13 lakes
connected by the Palatlakaha River, which is designated as an Outstanding
Florida Waterway.
LAKE TOHOPEKALIGA
Lake Tohopekaliga ( Lake Toho for short ) is renowned
for great fishing, amazing wildlife, and picture postcard scenery.
If you've never experienced an airboat
ride, this is the perfect place to do it. A fantastic experience awaits
you as you travel through the water lock system and into the wilderness
that was the true Florida only 100 or so years ago. Feel the wind in your
hair as you view the great outdoors and the headwaters that actually feed
the Everglades.
Lake Toho is a perfect place to spend a day bass fishing,
with a long history for producing trophy bass. Lake Toho is a regular
stop for professional and amateur anglers alike. There are a range of
expert guides available to assist anglers of all abilities.
ORANGE PICKING
Central Florida, the land of sunshine, golf and
theme parks. Amidst it all, awaits a sunny respite from the fast pace
of everyday (and vacation day) life. Stroll through acres and acres of
groves; check out the 50+ varieties of citrus, ripe for the picking; spread
out your blanket and enjoy a picnic (shoes optional).
